Ratnakar Ojha portrait

History & Journey

INDIAN, B. 1957

Ratnakar Ojha was born in the small village of Fakirpur in Odisha, where his earliest years were shaped by the simplicity and cultural richness of rural life. Growing up in this close-knit environment, he developed a quiet sensitivity to his surroundings, an awareness that would later find expression through art.

During his early teenage years, Ojha discovered a deep and lasting interest in artistic expression. What began as curiosity soon grew into passion, marking the first steps of a creative journey that would define his life and legacy as an artist.

Ojha studied Fine Arts at Indira Kala Sangeet University and later earned a G.D. Art qualification in metal crafts from Sir J. J. School of Art. He has lived and worked in Mumbai for many years. His artistic influences include the natural environment of his native village and the encouragement he received from his grandmother, who made clay dolls and supported his early interest in art.
